A organização da Copa do Mundo FIFA de futebol escolheu para a edição de 2010 do evento a musica remixada Wavin’ Flag (Bandeira ao Vento, em Português) do cantor somaliano naturalizado canadense K'naan, como música tema oficial. A música faz parte de seu terceiro álbum, Troubadour, sendo extremamente conhecida pelo público, por ser também um dos jingles das propagandas da Coca-Cola, patrocinadora oficial da copa do mundo. Outra música também reproduzida durante a realização do evento será “Oh África”, do Cantor Senegalês Akon, interpretada juntamente com a cantora Keri Hilson.
